Dorothy Barnard

COLONIE, NY – Dorothy C. Barnard, 87, passed away on Thursday, Jul 3, 2008. Born in Cranston, RI, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Rozella Eddy. She attended the University of Illinois. Dorothy was a devoted and loving wife and mother. She was a deeply religious woman who was active in many churches, including the Society of Friends and the Church of Scientology. She had a life long love of music, nature, natural health and spiritual study. Dorothy is the beloved wife of Paul Barnard. She is the devoted mother of Ethelyn (Paul) Grady, David (Rita) Barnard, Jonathan (Gail) Barnard, Kathryn (William) Tuczynski, Timothy (Rebecca) Barnard, Ronald (Mary Lou Chaikowski) Barnard and Durwin (Judith) Barnard. She is the loving sister of C. Roland Eddy, Clifton Eddy, Arthur Eddy and Ethelyn Twining. Dorothy is the cherished grandmother of Michael Grady, Edward Barnard, Harold Barnard, Arthur Barnard, Darcy Czajka, Brock Tuczynski, Reanna Tuczynski, Jennifer Khoury, Joshua Barnard and Ryan Khoury. She is the great-grandmother of Hallie Czajka. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Judy and her daughter-in-law, Rita Barnard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Pine Grove United Methodist Church, Colonie. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the church.
