Colonie- Dorothy C. Schultz passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on July 9, 2015. She was 80 years old.
The daughter of the late Austin and Marie (Tomaszewski) Miller, Dorothy was born on December 15, 1934 in Colonie, NY. She married her childhood sweetheart, Henry C. Schultz in 1955. Henry predeceased her in 1994.
Dorothy retired from the Colonie Police Department in 2013, after over 30 years of service in the records division. In her younger years Dorothy loved to bowl and enjoyed time with her family at their camp on Saratoga Lake. Dorothy volunteered her time at Proctor's Theater, as an usher, for a number of years. She was an avid Yankees fan and lived with her loyal companion "Babes."
Dorothy devoted her life to her family. She never missed any of her children's or grandchildren's concerts or sporting events. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her children Ronald M. "Ronnie" Schultz and Christina "Tina" LaBello (Nick Maio); her grandchildren: Jessica LaBello (Tim Harris), Michael LaBello (Jess Powalyk), Amy LaBello, Krystle Schultz (Robert Boyles), Amanda Lynn Schultz (Rodney Callahan), IsaBella Schultz, and Ronald "Little Ronnie" Schultz; her great grandchildren: Jayden, Logan, Mason Boyles and Alexa and Colton Callahan; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Monday, July 13 at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A funeral service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, July 14 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Dorothy's name to The Community Hospice, 295 Valley View Blvd., Rensselaer, NY 12144.
