Dorothy A. Deitrich

Dorothy A. Deitrich, 84, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 13, 2025 at Samaritan Hospital with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Carl and Dora (Kline) Geletzke. Dorothy was the devoted wife to the late Francis "Red" Sr.. 

She enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, cooking and shopping. She was an animal lover and loved being a homemaker and being with her family and her dogs, FiFi and Jackie. 

In addition to her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her children, Kathy and Dennis Wilcox, her grandchildren, Kris, Steven and Denise, her daughter-in-law Teddi-Jo Cook and her nephew Leo.

Dorothy is survived by her children, David Deitrich, Nancy Desautels, Carl Deitrich and Francis Deitrich, Jr.. Her sister Eileen Sawyer, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Wednesday February 19, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 4:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204 in Dorothy's memory.
