LOUDONVILLE – Dorothy Grace Neary Cheeseman, 89, formerly of Loudonville, died Wednesday February 25, 2009 at the Teresian House.
She was born in Yonkers, NY and was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margaret Burns Neary. Dorothy graduated from Newton High School and worked for several years at the Bank of Manhattan before moving to the Albany area. She was a devoted mother, wife and homemaker who also worked for the Bishop's Fund in Albany and St. Coleman's Home in Watervliet before retiring due to illness. Dorothy was active in St. Ambrose parish in Latham for many years and more recently at St. Pius X in Loudonville.
She was predeceased by husband Frank E. Cheeseman and her siblings, Daniel and Margaret.
Dorothy is the beloved mother of Dorothy Wolfstich (Ted) of Loudonville, Carol Hogan of Shrewsbury, MA., Edward Cheeseman (Debi) of Delmar and Daniel Cheeseman (Anne) of Niskayuna. She is the sister of Loretta Lape of Etowah, NC . Dorothy is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 4 great granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning at 9:15 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave) then to St. Pius X Church at 10:00 where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
