GUILDERLAND-Dorothy (Dottie) F. Gralow, 90, of Schenectady, passed away on October 7th. Dottie, born in Albany on March 7, 1924, married her life partner and soul mate of 70 years, Edward Gralow, on February 26, 1944 when he was home on leave from the US Navy during WWII.
Dottie enjoyed working with children and taught nursery school at Lynnwood Reformed Church. She was a founding member of Lynnwood Reformed Church, actively participating in the organization of the Women's Guild, teaching Sunday School and contributing to the Girl's League, Vacation Bible School and Youth Group. She was an accomplished seamstress who enjoyed making clothing for her family and friends.
Dottie is survived by her husband Edward Gralow, her son Kenneth Gralow, his wife Sheila, her daughter Karen Gralow Rion and her six grandchildren, Jennifer, Alyson, Heather, Amber, Kara and Nicole.
A memorial service with reception following will be held Monday, October 13th at 7:00 pm at Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3714 Carman Rd, Schenectady, NY with The Reverend Mr. Thomas Duncan presiding. A private family burial will take place at Saratoga National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Dottie, a 25 year Breast Cancer survivor, may be made to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, 8th Floor, New York, NY 10022, www.bcrfcure.org or to Lynnwood Reformed Church, 3714 Carman Road, Schenectady NY 12303.
