Albany-Dorothy M. Harmon, 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 7, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

Born on August 12, 1931 in Albany, a daughter of the late William and Margaret Hofmeister Norton. A lifelong resident of the area, Dorothy is a beloved retiree of the Albany City School District and her community. Dorothy was a devoted parishioner of the late St. James Catholic Church, now known as St. Francis of Assisi.

Dorothy is survived by her loving family, children, Donna Montesano and Donald Harmon; grandchildren, Michael Montesano, Rheannon DiMartino (Justin) and Joshua Harmon (Jillian); great-grandchildren, Zachary Harmon and Channon DiMartino; loving friend, Michelle McElroy and her family, who was more like a daughter to Dorothy. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald Harmon; great-granddaughter, Cecilia DiMartino; siblings, Marian Johnson and William Norton.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 from 4pm until 8pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Parish, 391 Delaware Ave, Albany, 12209.
