COLONIE – Dorothy J. West Wishon, 87, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at Albany Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Jesse and Blanche Young.
Dot was a resident of Chatham for several decades prior to moving to Colonie. She was a loving mother who enjoyed embroidering, reading and sitting out in the sun. In her younger days, Dot liked rollerskating at the local rinks. She was also a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Along with her parents, Dot was predeceased by her husbands, William West, Jr. and Robert Wishon.
She will be missed by her children James (Gisela) West of Frankfurt, Germany, Donald (Sharon) West of Valatie, and Arlene West (Anthony Fusco) of Colonie; stepdaughter Roberta Butler of St. Augustine, Fla.; grandchildren James (Traci) West, Jr., Nicolette West, Emily West and James Butler, and great grandson Jordon West.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 7:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
