Dorothy M. June

Dorothy Mae June, 87, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Samaritan Hospital with her loving family by her side. Dorothy was the daughter of the late Willie and Alean York.

Dorothy enjoyed playing BINGO, gardening and taking long drives. She loved to bake, her sweet potato pie and corn bread were comforting and exceptional. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and really enjoyed life.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her daughter Shirley D. June and her brothers John and Tommy York.

Dorothy is survived by her children, Willie (Germine Mahoney) June and James (Joyce) June. She is the sister of Thelma York and Lucilla Frazier. Sister-in-law to Mary York, Earleen York and Lind Capers. She is also survived by her loving grandson James Prince, her beloved great granddaughter Nigeriah Jenkins, nephew Christopher Thornton and a host of other grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet, New York on Saturday November 19, 2022 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A memorial service will follow the calling hours at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be private.

The family would like to thank the Rubin Dialysis Center for all of their tender loving care given to Dorothy during her time with them.
