On December 2nd after a brief illness Dorothy Doris LeBlanc went to be with Jesus and rest in His arms. Dorothy was born on March 21, 1928 in Odanak, Canada on the Abenaki Reservation. A tribal member of the Bear Clan her heart never left the reservation. A survivor of the Indian Day Schools and the residential school of Chapleau Ontario Canada. She was taken from her family as a child for 8 years to a government facility before returning home. Now we pray for the children and families of those who did not survive.
After moving to Albany New York she married her husband of 49 years Maurice LeBlanc. Dorothy loved being a home maker for the whole family. She was blessed with 8 children and a loving mother with a heart of gold to care for everyone. Teaching by compassion not punishment. Her greatest strength was her gentleness. Her little dog Beethoven and Guido her protector she loved them dearly.
Special thanks to Chantelle, Niko and Lillian for there care and companionship in her later years. She was the late daughter of Frederick and Elsie Watso, and sister to Frederick, Sammy, Albert, Raymond, Walter, Barbera Ann, Priscella and Bernice. Mother of Slyvia, Maurice, Phillipe, Jean Paul, Henri, Michael Jacques, Eunice and Emile. Plus all her numerous grand children and great grand children she cherished .
