HOOSICK FALLS - Dorothy E. Lewis, 82, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born in Troy on October 28, 1934 and was the last surviving daughter of the 13 children of the late Russell and Lydia (Crandall) Fowler. She was the beloved wife of 57 years to the late Hubert H. Lewis. She owned and operated a miniature dachshund kennel as a hobby and had retired from Tansitor Electronics in Bennington, VT in 1999.
Dorothy is survived by her loving children, Louise (Al) Brooks, Ricky Lewis, Martin (Betty) Lewis, Edward (late Linda Brady) Lewis, Daniel (Lori) Lewis, Brenda (Ralph) Granger, Barbara (late Donald) Paddock, Herbie (Jennelle) Lewis and Beverly Bates; her cherished grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 181 Troy Schenectady Rd., Watervliet. A calling hour will precede the service from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
A special thanks to Community Hospice and their staff for the support given to Dorothy's family, so Louise, Brenda and Barbara could focus on Mom's care.
