ALBANY – Dorothy M. Chaney, 73, passed away on Sunday, April 24, 2011, at Albany Medical Center. Born in Halifax, VA, she was the daughter of the late Mandy White and Martha Irby.
Dorothy was united in marriage to Robert Chaney (Buck) who preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing a son, Robert W. White of Albany; sister Louise Ware of Albany; three brothers Willie Jr., Herman Harris, both of Albany, and Sylvester White of Jamestown. Five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 am at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road (Rt. 155 – South of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Graceland Cemetery, Albany.
