SCHENECTADY – Dorothy M. Putnam, 87, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2011 at her son's home, with her loving family by her side. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Florence Regels. Dorothy lived in Schenectady for all of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo, visiting Racino, and especially loved spending time with her family. Dorothy was the beloved wife of the late Kirk Putnam. She is the devoted mother of Linda (Robert) Liscum of Scotia, Maggie (Edward) Ohlidal of Tuscola, IL, Kirk (Leslie) Putnam, Jr. of Clifton Park and Rick (Debra) Putnam of Galway. She is the loving sister of Marjorie Curren of Scotia, Herbert Regels and Bernard Regels, both of Schenectady and Ronald Regels of Ballston Spa. Also surviving are ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her brothers, Donald, Arnold and Edwin Regels. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Community Hospice of Saratoga for the care and support given to Dorothy during her illness.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (rt. 155-south of Central Ave). A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park View Cemetery, Schenectady. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to Community Hospice of Saratoga, 179 Lawrence St., Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 in memory of Dorothy M. Putnam.
