ALBANY - Dorothy M. (Zink) Boettner, 81, passed away on Saturday, October 6, 2007 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy was born on October 26, 1925 in Schenectady and was the daughter of the late Howard and Catherine Beagen Zink. She worked as a clerk for the NYS Department of Drug and Substance Abuse then went to the Department of Audit and Control before retiring in 1986. She enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Deborah E. Wojnar of Phoenix, AZ, Douglas E. Boettner of Albany, Freddie H. (Sue) Boettner of Schenectady, and Denise E. (Kelly) King of Albany; her ten grandchildren, Gregory and Nicole, Douglas and Randall, Eric and Megan, and William, Kelly, Heather and Erin; her 2 great-grandchildren, Martin Izaiah and Tianna; her brother, Richard (Bert) Zink of Guilderland, her sister-in-law, Peggy Zink of Albnay and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick H. Boettner, her brothers, Howard (Buck) and Francis (Skip) Zink, her son-in-law, Bob Wojnar and her sister-in-law, Marion Zink.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary's Church in Albany. Calling hours will be held at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie( Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.) on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment in Memory's Garden will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206 in memory of Dorothy M. Boettner.
