Dorothy Mae Rhone of Clarksville passed away peacefully in the close presence of family members on March 3rd, 2023. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and wife to the late John K. Rhone.
Dorothy was known for her kind, warm personality as well as her vibrant spirit and fierce loyalty to family and friends. She is survived by her son Jeff (Martha) Rarick, daughter Jacqueline (William) Hill, and son John (Kim) Rarick, 10 grandchildren with her late grandson Anthony E. Hill greeting her in heaven, and 14 great-grandchildren with another due in August. She was a loving and devoted wife to the late John K. Rhone, to whom she was married for 36 years.
Dorothy was a cherished member of the Bethlehem Central School District community, where served in various roles for the past 16 years including supporting students with special needs as a transportation aide. Prior to her work in schools, she spent years as a blackjack dealer at Harrah's Casino Kansas City, as well as various management positions in the hospitality industry.
Dorothy loved hosting large family gatherings at her Clarksville home which was the very home in which her father built. When not cooking or entertaining guests, you could find her working in her vegetable garden, on a Harley ride with her late husband, or buying and selling collectibles at local flea markets.
Dorothy elected for private services in celebration of her life.
