Dorothy H. Valachovic, 89, of Delmar, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2017.

Dorothy was the daughter of the late Herbert and Pauline (Lentz) Hall, and was the devoted wife to Randall J. Valachovic. Together Dorothy and Randall were married 70 years.

Dorothy enjoyed photography and gardening. She liked listening to sports on the radio, especially the Boston Red Sox. Dorothy liked all kinds of music. She possessed a musical ear and after hearing a tune she could play it back on her guitar or keyboard.

Dorothy enjoyed going out with her husband and spending time with her family and friends.

Dorothy is survived by her husband Randall Valachovic, her son Steve (Carol) Valachovic, her daughters, Nanci (Tom) Hoffman and Shelley (Pete LaBonne) Valachovic. Seven grandchildren; Tara (Mark Walker) Valachovic, Aaron (Leigh Ann) Valachovic and Philip (Jaime) Valachovic, Michael (Toviah Prince) Hoffman, Kimberly (Jonathan) Kauffman, David (Sarah) Hoffman and Kathleen (Ryan) Miller and thirteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Hazel Hall, and two nephews Stuart and Peter Hall, and one niece Catharine Lentz, as well as her great niece, Coral Iris.

Dorothy was predeceased by her dear brother, Robert A. Hall.

The family wishes to thank the staff at the Atria in Delmar and St. Peter's Nursing Home, (especially the 3rd floor nursing staff). Also, a special thanks to the Community Hospice and the caregivers that looked after our mother and family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Dorothy H. Valachovic.

There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will take place at a later date at the convenience of the family.
