SCHENECTADY – Dorothy Vitallo, 91, a longtime Schenectady resident, passed away on Sunday, July 22, 2012 at Dutch Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Rotterdam.
Dorothy was born on December 3, 1920 in Watervliet and was the daughter of the late James W. and Mary B. (McCabe) Moore. She worked for a short time for General Electric and then a homemaker. She was an avid reader and a lover of Lake George.
Dorothy is survived by her five loving children, Russell J. Vitallo, Kathleen E. Harper (Peter), Henry J. Vitallo, Mark A. Vitallo, and Matthew R. Vitallo (Marise); her two cherished grandchildren, Beth M. and Russell T. Vitallo. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 27 years, Russell T. Vitallo and her siblings, Kenneth and John Moore, Mildred Woodin, Bessie Ryan, and Jane Mayo.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday. Interment will be private at Memory Gardens in Colonie.
Memorial contributions may be made to Schenectady City Mission, 425 Hamilton St., Schenectady, NY 12305 in memory of Dorothy Vitallo.
