Dorothy Musley Williams, born August 17, 1927, passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 12, 2021. Dottie was born in Newark, NJ, and grew up in Treadwell, NY. Her young teen years at The Kellogg School were filled with small town activities to support the war effort. She played clarinet in the school's marching band for patriotic events and planted victory gardens with her class. Dottie filled roles as class vice president and treasurer while at Kellogg. She went on to graduate from Otega High School in 1946 where bobby socks, skirts and cardigans were the fun fashion for Dottie and her sister, Lorraine. Dottie attended Delhi Tech where she majored in Home Economics.
In 1951, she moved to Albany, NY where she met the love of her life, Bob Williams, at a picnic at Thatcher Park. From the start, they were a beautiful, charismatic couple who laughed together every day. They married in 1952 and started a family. With her home economics background, Dottie excelled as a homemaker, keeping a highly organized house, raising two children, sewing clothes, cooking delicious meals and baking the best pies and tarts we have ever tasted. She made all family celebrations special. Her holiday tables were always beautifully set with white linens and silver trays.
In the years that followed Dottie loved to relax with family vacations along the coast of Maine and Cape Cod, as well as, autumn drives through Vermont. Her granddaughter, Caylen, became her best friend for life, sharing countless days of love, laughter and sleepovers. Everyone who met Dottie was taken by her warm smiles and infectious laughs. Dottie's beautiful spirit will live on with us through all our family gatherings.
Dottie is predeceased by her husband, Robert A. Williams, her son Robert S. Williams, her parents, William and Dorothy Musley and her sister Lorraine Miller.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Peter Sawchuk) Williams, her granddaughter, Caylen (Eric Holtz) Sawchuk, her great granddaughter Theodora Elizabeth Holtz, as well as, her nieces and nephews.
A small private service will be held at Saratoga National Cemetery.
