Dorothy J. Williams, 90, wife of the late Nelson O. Williams Sr. formerly of Voorheesville, NY, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, July 14, 2023. She was a most beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Born March 3, 1933, in Albany, NY, raised in Slingerlands, NY, Dorothy graduated from Bethlehem High School in 1950. She worked for several years at Albany Savings Bank and Albany Medical College. Dorothy and Nelson were married in 1952, later moved into, and raised their children, in the home that Nelson built on Swift Road in Voorheesville.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Laura (William) Fiato Houghton; her granddaughters Amy (Greg) Boehmcke, Kristin (Robert) Watkins, and Heather (Mallory) Fiato; her great grandchildren, Brody, Shea, Beau, Clay, and Ellis.
In addition to her husband, Dorothy was predeceased by her son Nelson O. Williams, Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 11:30am at the Bethlehem Cemetery, Delmar.
