Douglas W. Griffin, Sr.

September 13, 1955 — December 21, 2012

SCHODACK LANDING – Douglas Wade Griffin, 57, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. Doug worked as a construction worker for many years in New York and Texas. For the last five years of his life, he worked at SUNY Albany as a warehouseman. He loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, hunting and fishing. Doug was actively involved in the church dart league and was also a member of the Schodack Landing Fire Company.

He is the beloved father of Crystal Griffin of Hudson, Douglas W. (Naomi Friss) Griffin, II and Sarah Griffin of Atlanta, GA. Doug is the loving brother of Michelle Griffin-Edmonson of Altamont, Michael T. (Susan) Griffin of Alaska, Marc A. (Heidi) Griffin of Schodack Landing and Allen (Gretchen) Ostrander of Peekskill. Also surviving is his former wife of twenty-seven years, Anita Griffin as well as ten grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and many friends and family and his loving companion, Virginia Pertgen.
Doug's family would like to thank the dedicated nurses and doctors at Albany Medical Center, Albany Oncology Group, the Eddy Visiting Nurses and his lifelong friend Michael Harris who made his special wish come true.


A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 29th at 2:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel Reformed Church, 1150 Maple Hill Road, Castleton-On-Hudson, NY.
