Albany- Dr. C. Christopher King, 58, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018.
Born on November 20, 1959 in Florence, AL, the son of Charles and Janice Smith King. Chris is survived by his loving wife of seven years, Autumn Klotz King; children, Jordan and Ashley King; stepdaughters, Blair and Hannah Krah; his aunt, Joan Thompson.
Chris earned his Doctorate Degree from Yale Medical School. He was board certified and an expert in both adult and pediatric emergency medicine. He joined Albany Medical Center Hospital as Chairman of Emergency Medicine in 2011. He was a valued physician leader and a tremendous mentor to faculty, residents and students. Dr. King collaborated enthusiastically with nursing leadership, advanced practice professionals and other allied health professionals to deliver high quality patient care.
His enthusiasm for excellence in pediatric emergency care was inspirational. He was a tireless champion for the Massry Family Children's Emergency Center, scheduled to open this summer. He was the consummate academic emergency physician.
Memorial service will be at the Hilton Garden Inn across from Albany Med. Monday April 2 from 4-6pm.
