Dr. Kwaku Sarkodie Nimako, 45, of Colonie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born April 7, 1969 in Kumasi, Ghana, he was a son of Knight Badu-Nimako and Yaa Anim Nimako.
Dr. Nimako was a 2004 graduate from the Albany College of Pharmacy with his Doctorate in Pharmacy. He was a practicing Pharmacist at Glens Falls Hospital bringing a smile to everyone's face he came in contact with. He worked at several area pharmacies including NYOH at Albany Medical Center, St. Peter's Hospital, Rite Aid Pharmacy and Price Chopper Pharmacy. Dr. Nimako was an active member of the Capital City Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Albany. He loved researching the latest medical treatments, gardening but most of all was treasured his family and friends.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 20 years Lorraine (Poku) Nimako; children Aaron, Dillon, Danielle and Nariah Nimako; brothers Evans Nimako, Knight Badu-Nimako, Jr, Nyantakyi Akuoko and a host of brothers in Ghana; sisters Juliana Sserunkuma, Yvette Nimako, Yvonne Nimako and a host of sisters in Europe and Ghana; sister-in-law Gladys Akuoko and close family friends Mr. and Mrs. Davis. Dr. Nimako is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2015 10 A.M. at the Capital City Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 168 South Allen Street, Albany, NY 12208 with Pastor David Cuke officiating. Calling hours to which relatives and friend are invited to attend will be held from 8 A.M. until time of service at the church on Friday.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kwaku's memory to the Capital City Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 168 South Allen Street, Albany, NY 12208.
