Dr. Rudolph Adolphus Ramsay was born February 26, 1931 to the late Randolph & Mary Rarnsay. He was born and raised in Guyana, South America. He later moved to England to further his studies.
Dr. Ramsay received his Bachelor's Degree in 1964 from Howard University, and his D.D.S. in 1968 from Howard University Dental College, in Washington, DC. He was licensed to practice dentistry in August 1970. He was certified to practice dentistry by the North East Regional Board of Dental Examiners in the following states: New York, Connecticut, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Vermont and West Virginia.
Dr. Ramsay was affiliated with the: American Dental Association, American Endodontic Association, New York Dental Association, Third District Dental Society of Albany, NY, and Beta Kappa Chi, Honor Society, Zoology.
While living in England, Dr. Ramsay was a Postman at the British Postal System. He also owned his own taxi cab in Washington, D.C. He served as a Dentist at the Albany County Institute of Health. He was an instructor in the Department of Surgery at Albany Medical College for 7 years. Dr. Ramsay also served as the Dental Planning Coordinator for Albany Medical College, and Dental Director of Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center.
While living in Guyana, South America, he met V. Claudia Mayers, and they later married in 1959 in England, UK. They moved to the USA in 1965. Through their union, they were blessed with two children, Robert (UK) and Saundra (USA). He operated his private dental practice in Menands, NY from 1972, until his retirement in 2012. He also served as a Major in the United States Army Reserves, 1981 - 1984.
Dr. Rudolph Adolphus Ramsay leaves to cherish his memory; his wife of 61 years, V. Claudia Ramsay; his two children Robert (Janet) Ramsay and Saundra Fox; his two grandsons, Joshua and Justice Ramsay; brothers and sisters, Dennis Ramsay, Myrtle (Harold) Jaikaran, Ferdinand (Lynn) Ramsay, and Cephil Ramsay; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
