Dr. Semie Lechebo (1935-2013)
ROCHESTER: Dr. Semie Lechebo passed on March 4, 2013 after a long illness at Strong Memorial Hospital. He was born and raised in Ethiopia. Predeceased by his Mother, Father and a Stepdaughter. Survived by daughter, Meskerem (Shawn) Hodges; stepdaughter, Shena Thomas; Grandchildren, Gabriel Hodges, Bria, Landon, and Blessing Thomas and extended family and friends.
Dr. Lechebo was an educator in the Rochester community since 1976 with a career at SUNY Brockport with many professional affiliations on boards and committees in the community and at the state level. He received his Bachelor and Master degrees from the University of Wisconsin, a Doctoral degree from SUNY Albany and an Education Diploma from Harvard University.
No calling hours. A memorial service will be held March 16, 2013 at 11am at Saint George Orthodox Church, One Saint George Place, Albany, NY 12202.
