Draven Michael Rodriguez

SCHENECTADY - Draven Michael Rodriguez, the beloved son of Melissa Peterson, Jonathan Stewart, Erik Rodriguez, Amy Rodriguez and adoring brother of Lily Stewart, passed away on Thursday, February 19th 2015.
Born on October 6, 1997 in Schenectady, NY, Draven attended Schenectady High School. He was a devoted academic and had an innate curiosity which led him on diverse pursuits, such as Russian, guitar, computers and many others. He was also a Senior Troop Leader for the Boy Scouts, participated in crew, loved nature, had a sophisticated palate, and was an avid sportsman. Draven was a member of the humane society, a Red Cross certified life guard, active blood donor and participated in the unmake a bully program.
Draven's charming nature, kindness and generosity made him a friend to everyone he met without prejudice. His selflessness and confidence was an inspiration to everyone who knew him. He was surrounded by love, spread happiness and smiles wherever he went. His sometimes silly joking manner is literally known the world over. Draven approached life with a sense of wonder and fun.
Draven will be missed by all that he met and touched in his life. He left large footprints for such a young man. We will always remember his "Hug-bys" and all of his precious "Dravenisms". He was a truly unique human.
Draven is survived by his parents Melissa Petersen, Jonathan Stewart, Erik Rodriguez, and Amy Rodriguez. Along with his Sister Lily Stewart, His Grandparents Monsy Arce, Kathie and Michael Cacchione, Earl and Teresa Petersen, Jerry Stewart, Judith and Roger Niles and Allen and Sherry Huzar. Great Grandparents Nicholas and Shirly Cacchione. He is also predeceased by Grandfather Pedro Rodriguez and Great Grandparents Antonia Arce Arizmendi and Ramon Arce.
Public calling hours are Thursday from 4-8pm at New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY. The service will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Dravens name to either the Humane Society or Northeast Parent and Child Association of Schenectady.
