Drew O. Gibson

Drew O'Brien Gibson, 33 of Albany, N.Y., passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022. Drew was a beloved son, brother and uncle to parents, Garth and Nora, brother Kyle and his wife Samantha, and their sons, Theodore and Calvin - who adored their uncle "Dew" and his big truck. Drew will also be missed terribly by his large extended family, including his aunts, uncles and cousins to whom he was always willing to lend a helping hand and a loving smile.

Drew attended Ichabod Crane High School where he was a member of the golf team. Always a love of his, he continued to practice his game daily as a member of Wolferts Roost Country Club. Drew graduated Cum Laude from SUNY Albany Business school and worked as a purchasing agent, most recently at American Boiler in Albany.

Ever a thrill seeker, Drew enjoyed riding motorcycles, snowboarding, and jumping off just about anything that was high over water. As he slowed down a bit, he began playing guitar teaching himself via YouTube. Having always listened to a wide variety of music his instrumentals were no different, and you could find him playing anything from Dave Matthews Band to Jason Derulo to The Rolling Stones.

Drew also enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially the many summers with them in one of his favorite places - the family cottage in the Thousand Islands. They will all miss his quick wit, big smile, and kindness.

A celebration of life will be held on August 19, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Peebles Island Pavilion in Cohoes, N.Y. - a favorite spot of Drew's
to walk his dog Rufus. His family invites all who knew Drew to attend, share stories, and celebrate his life. His family will also be offering words of remembrance around 6 p.m. and invite others to do the same.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society.
