Duane Jenkins

LATHAM - Duane "Duke" A. Jenkins, 77, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the St. Peter's Hospice Inn, surrounded by his loving family.
Duke was born on June 27, 1930 in Detroit, MI and was the son of the late Arthur and Edna Griffin Jenkins. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He worked as a sprinkler fitter for the UA Sprinkler Fitters Local Union 669 for 15 years before retiring in 1990. He currently was working at the Latham Circle Mall where he worked as a maintenance mechanic which he enjoyed very much. He enjoyed working on machines of all types, playing darts and spending time with his family.
Duke is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Barbara Allen Jenkins; his devoted sons, Richard J. (Laurie) Jenkins of Amsterdam, Robert A. Jenkins of Latham and Gary M. (Suzanne) Jenkins of Mt. Laurel, NJ; his cherished grandchildren, David, Nina, Jenna and Jasmine Jenkins and Shari Hume; his twin brother, Wayne (Jean) Jenkins of East Greenbush; his sister, Barbara (Robert) Mosall of Guilderland and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson, Robert Jenkins.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Interment will follow at Albany Rural Cemetery in Menands. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
