E. Jean Falcone
February 23, 1928 — January 4, 2015
E. Jean (Fortin) Falcone, 86, passed away on January 4, 2015 at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Falcone, her parents George and Eleanora Fortin, and three sisters Elaine Mary (Fortin) Hazzard, Constance Mae (Fortin) Wanek and Beartrice Fortin.
Jean graduated from Lansingburgh High School in North Troy. She also lived in Waterford and Schaghticoke before moving to her daughter's home in Colonie.
She retired from the New York State Department of Labor and had also worked at Desourmeau Vending Company. She enjoyed knitting, playing cards and bingo.
Her daughter Noonie Fortin of Colonie would like to thank the current and past aides, nursing staff and activities people at Our Lady of Mercy Life Center on the Fatima unit for their care and attention to Jean as well as the staff from Community Hospice.
Besides her daughter Jean is survived by her brother, George Fortin, Jr of Fort Worth, TX; niece Robbin (Hazzard) Agard and her family of Oakdale, CT; nephew Mark Hazzard of Swanton, VT; as well as many other nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held privately at New Comer Funeral Home, Colonie. Burial will be in Oakwood cemetery, Troy.
Noonie, an Army Veteran, has requested that in her mother's memory, please make a donation to either the Vietnam Woman's Foundation, Inc., 1735 Connecticut Ave. NW, 3rd Floor, Washington, DC 20009 or the US Army Woman's Museum, 2100 "A" Ave., Fort Lee, VA 23801.
