Earle H. Lufkin, Jr.

November 2, 1932 — February 10, 2024

Earle H. Lufkin Jr., entered into eternal life on February 10, 2024, after a heroic 19-year battle with Alzheimer's disease. Throughout this difficult part of his life, his sweet, resilient spirit never wavered.

Born November 2, 1932, Earle was a lifelong Colonie resident. A 1950 graduate of CBA, Earle attended Siena College prior to serving two years in the Army during the Korean conflict. He met his wife Barbara at the NYS Insurance Department where he worked as a Chief Actuarial Clerk for 38 years before retiring in 1995. For many years after retirement, Earle was an active member of his neighborhood watch organization. Earle was a good, honest, dependable hardworking man who was devoted to his loving "Barbie" and his daughters. He enjoyed music and could play several instruments.
He loved gardening and took great pride in his well-maintained lawn and bushes. He enjoyed reading magazines and the nightly newspaper. He also liked bird watching. Earle was friendly, approachable, and very likeable. He was truly a kind, loving soul.

Earle was predeceased by his parents Earle Sr. and Viola (DeRocher) Lufkin and his baby brother, Donald Lufkin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Barbara (Bazar) Lufkin and his daughters Debbie Baxter (Kevin) and Kathy Womeldorph (Mark). He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Matthew Baxter, Jennifer Baxter (James Feeks), Brian Womeldorph, Justin Womeldorph and one great grandchild, Daniel James Feeks, a sister-in-law, Ann Bazar, and several cousins.
