EAST GREENBUSH – Eda Maria DiCicco, 94, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 from natural causes. Born in Torrington, CT, She was the daughter of the late Achilles and Teresa (Rossi) DiCicco.
Eda was a resident of Uxbridge, MA and East Greenbush. She was the owner of Ida's Beauty Shop and Elite Coiffeur for a combined fifty years. Eda also worked as a sales associate with Sibley's and Burlington Coat Factory, where she earned many awards for customer service. She was a member of Full Gospel Church in Rensselaer. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and arts. Her number one passion was music; she enjoyed singing in the church choir. Eda spent time teaching her grandchildren how to cook and was fond of vacationing in Cape Cod. She was a lover of animals and fan of the Boston Red Sox.
Along with her parents, Eda was predeceased by her four brothers; four sisters; lifelong companion and father of her children, Walter John Mularczyk and grandson John C. Collier.
She is survived by her daughters Julie (Charles) Collier of East Greenbush and Terry (Ken) DeYoung of Sutton, MA ; sister Rita Demers; brother Joseph DiCicco; grandchildren Michael Dunphy, Tara Colonair, Edmund (Tanya), Chris (Becky) and Juliana; granddaughter-in-law Amy Collier; great-grandchildren Edmund, Jr., Travis and John, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday at 6:00 pm at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie. Calling hours will precede the service from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the funeral home.
