TROY – Eddie "Sam" Mauzon, Jr., 81, departed this earth on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Albany Memorial Hospital after a long illness.
Eddie was born in Greeleyville, Clarendon County, SC to the late Eddie and Janie (Felix) Mauzon, Sr. After moving to Troy, he became a member of Bethel Baptist Church. Eddie united in marriage to Rebecca Dukes, and to their union a devoted daughter, Lorraine Mauzon McCleary. He retired from Barclay Home Products after 35 years.
He leave to cherish his memory, two brothers, Frank and Robbie Mauzon; three daughters, Lorraine, Brenda, and Gaynell, one son, John Childers, a son-in-law, Pinkney McCleary; 10 grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Charles L. Robinson; a sister-in-law, Maebell Mauzon; two godchildren; a special nephew, Harry L. Mauzon; and a loving companion of 40 years, Inell Bowden. He was predeceased by his wife, Rebecca.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bethel Baptist Church in Troy. Calling hours will precede the service from 9 to 11 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Elmwood Hill Cemetery in Troy.
