Albany- Edgar Richards (Ken), 94, retired Director of Prisons from Georgetown, Guyana died peacefully on March 26, 2016 with his loving family at his side. Edgar was also an employee with the Eden Park Nursing home from which he retired in 1988.
Born on June 16, 1921 in Georgetown, British Guiana, was married to Thelma his wife of 67 years. Their union produced 8 children. In 1980, Edgar and his family migrated to the United States and made 209 Sherman Street the family home.
He is survived by his wife and their children, Neil, Colin, Gem (Olivia), Owen, Tessa, Calvin (Keith), and Dawn; twelve grand-children and fourteen great-grand-children. He was father-in-law to Theresa, Debbie, Josh, Joan, Robert and Marva. He was preceded in death by his siblings Ivan, Eileen, Leslie, Esmey and Shelia.
Visitation: Friday, April 1, 2016 at 4:00pm to 8:00 pm, New Comer Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY.
Funeral Service: Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 10:00 am, The Cathedral of all Saints Church, 62 South Swan Street, Albany New York
