Edith I. Balogh, 77, of Esperance NY, passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on Wednesday June 1st.
Edith made her career of being a nurse at the VA Stratton medical center in Albany for 26 years. She enjoyed helping the elderly through her retirement years. Edith was driven by a passion to help others and believed the world could always use one more kind hearted person. She was an avid garage sale enthusiast.
In addition to her parents William and Elona (Silbert) Krause, Edith was predeceased by her loving husband Robert Balogh and her brother William (Carol) Krause of Clarksville NY.
She is survived by her 3 daughters, Judith (Lee) Venette of Colonie NY, Robin (Stewart) Smith of Gainesville VA, Laura Walters of Sharon Springs NY, and her granddaughter Alexis Williams of Sharon Springs NY, and brother Richard (Jean) Krause of Richfield Springs NY along with several nieces and nephews.
Edith will be missed by Diamond, her beloved dog, who never wanted to leave her side.
There will be a private family celebration of her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Esperance Fire Dept,135 Church St, Esperance, NY 12066 and the American Stroke Association https://www.heart.org/.
The family would like to thank the Neurology team and nurses who made her comfortable at Ellis hospital.
