GUILDERLAND – Edith Kilmer, 80, passed away on Sunday, June 12, 2011 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Alberta McNicol.
Edith owned and operated EK's Diner in Duanesburg. She worked for the Teresian House and Our Lady of Mercy Nursing Home. She was a member of the Nimble Fingers Needlework Group of Voorheesville, and the Lighthouse Baptist Church.
Edith was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Frank Kilmer; brothers Donald and Duncan McNicol, and sister Francis Miller.
She is survived by her sisters, Alberta Pahl, June Salsburg, Nancy Hopper, and beloved sister-in-law, Ruth Langenbach. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to thank the Association of the Blind Guildcare for their exceptional care.
A memorial service will be held at Lighthouse Baptist Church, Schenectady on Saturday at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Capital District Dialysis Center, Inc., 650 Mcclellan Street, Schenectady, NY 12304 in Edith's honor.
