COLONIE, NY – Edith M. Holt, 76, departed this life for a higher calling on December 24, 2009. On February 24, 1952, Edith was married to William (Pete) Holt, Jr. and settled in Albany, NY. Their union was blessed with one son, Jason Holt and had the privilege of raising Richard Jackson and Shenequa Curtis. Edith's passing will also be mourned by her sisters; Maxine (David) Ballou, Jennifer Jones and Aquila Cook; and brother, McKinley (Gail) Jones. Edith was predeceased by her sisters; Brenda Jones, Sally Fordam, Louise Thompson and Amelia Turner and a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Cook. Edith will also be mourned by her seven grandchildren; Quika, Brenden, Jamia, Quennaki, Jaysen, Jared, Jacob, Richard Jr., Sean, Anthony, Vanessa, Natashay, Crustal, Kawonna, LaQuana and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the ER staff of St. Peter's Hospital for all of their care.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Riverview Missionary Baptist Church in Coeymans. A calling hour will precede the service from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Colonie.
