CLARKSVILLE- Edith "Edie" Marie McMillen died peacefully with her loving family by her side December 6, 2020. She was 98.
Edith was born on December 14, 1921 to Carl Scharf and Ingeborg Zoll. She married Elbert McMillen in 1945 and remained his loving wife until his death in 1994.
Edith was the co-owner of McMillen & Sons Construction Company for 50 years.
She was an active member of the Women's Guild of Clarksville Reformed Church and New Scotland Senior's Center. She spent her time volunteering at the V.A. Hospital in Albany. Edith enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing cards and trips to the casino. Above all, she loved spending time with her
family.
Edith is survived by her children: Bonnie (James) Sweeney, Geraldine (Ronald) Dames, Elbert (the late Cecilia) McMillen, Wynn (Marlene) McMillen, Randall (Sonya) McMillen, Lowell (the late Jean) McMillen, Layne (Patti) McMillen, Craig (Joyce) McMillen; 22 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Elbert, grandson Shaine and great granddaughter Samantha. Edith also leaves behind many special nieces, nephews and friends.
Private graveside services will be held at Onesquethaw Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Clarksville Community Church.
