Edith C. Sjostrom, 89, passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at home with her loving family by her side.
Born in February 1935, she was the daughter of the late William and Irene (Deihle) Wegner.
She is survived by her daughter Cathryn D. Hirshon, seven grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren.
Edith loved camping. During the summer months, she and her family would travel all over NY state, especially enjoying trips to Montauk camping grounds where they would be joined by many friends for a week and have a great time. Edith was a huge animal lover and would volunteer at North Shore Animal League, Long Island. As a grandmother, the summer months continued to hold great meaning, and her grandchildren would look forward to spending "summer camp" with their beloved grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Edith was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Erling Sjostrom. She was also predeceased by her son Richard P Leven II.
