WATERFORD – Edith M. VanDerHyden, 71, of Waterford, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Magdellena Murray. Edith was a Schenectady resident for most of her life. Mrs. VanDerHyden graduated from Ellis Hospital School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse for Ellis Hospital for 16 years. She enjoyed cooking, baking, knitting and reading. Edith is the beloved wife of Ralph R. VanDerHyden. She is the devoted mother of Mary Truman, Mandi Conroy and her husband, Christopher and the late Madelyn Flagler. She is the cherished grandmother of Kayleigh Truman and Peter Conroy. Also surviving is her cousin, Frank Yurkins of West Virginia.
Relatives and friends are invited and may call on Wednesday morning from 10:00 to 11:00 at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Funeral services will follow at 11:00 at the funeral Home. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Rotterdam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern NY, 85 Watervliet Ave., Albany, NY 12206-2083 in memory of Edith M. VanDerHyden.
