Edmund A. Novak

April 19, 1948 — January 11, 2021

Edmund A. Novak, 72, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2021 surrounded by the love of his family.

Born in Niskayuna on April 19, 1948, he was the son of the late Edmund G. and Malvina (Jusefowicz) Novak, who passed away at a young age.

Ed graduated in 1967 from Bishop Gibbons in Schenectady and attended Cobleskill Community College.

Ed was an entrepreneur at heart, co-owned B & E Builders and was owner of Sunset Remodeling. Later, with his wife and daughters, he operated Shooters Billiards and Chello's Pizzeria in Schodack, New York. He retired from the East Greenbush School District after 17 years and became a poker player extraordinaire. Ed will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Deborah (Cook) Novak; daughters, Chelsea Novak, Emily Tremont (Kale) grandchildren, Kooper and Karter: sister Kathy Relyea, sisters-in-law Andrea Agnew, Barbara Dietrich (Bill), Nancy Moore, many nieces, nephews, his former brother-in-law Kenneth Moore, his Sunset Road Friday night poker group (you know who you are) and his fur puppies Jax and Mickey.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his step-mother Mary Bonczyk Novak, brothers-in-law Jack Relyea, L. Jack Agnew and his precious fur puppy, Layla.

Due to the current environment surrounding Covid 19, services will be private.

Ed's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the ICU staff at St. Peter's Hospital for their kindness, care and compassion during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Mohawk Hudson Humane Society, 3 Oakland Avenue, Menands, NY 12204.

As only Ed would say and in following his final wishes:
Ed is dead, long live Ed.
