Edna Jeffers

Edna Jeffers, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away on May 7, 2024, at age 83.

Daughter of the late Bjarne and Laura Olsen, Edna was born on April 27,1941 in Brooklyn, NY. In 1959, she met the love of her life, Jim Jeffers, whom she married in 1962 and started a family. Edna and Jim raised four sons and instilled in them the importance of family. Edna valued education, and earned an Associate's Degree from Sullivan County Community College later in life. She loved to tell anyone who would listen about her sons and 8 grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, James Jeffers; her siblings, Karin Harrison, Roy Olsen, Magda Knop and brother-in-laws Dick Harrison and Robert Knop.

She is survived by her four sons, Christopher (Allison) of Loudonville, NY, Glenn (Kelly) of Delmar, NY, Michael (Sandy) of Williamsville, NY and James (Karen) of Skillman, NJ, as well as her eight grandchildren, Brendan, Michael, Ryan, Zachary, Isla, Meike, Hazel and Elizabeth. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Pat Olsen and her nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly.

Edna leaves behind a love of reading, crossword puzzles, Diet Pepsi, her recipe for chocolate dessert, corny jokes, and, most of all, reminiscing about good times with her family. She could instantly change the subject with her favorite saying, "At any rate," a phrase we'll all use for years to come. Mom, you will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2024 from 12 to 2 PM at New Comer Cremations and Funerals, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie, NY, 12205 followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edna's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
