ALBANY, NY – Edna Saddlemire passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Knox, she was the daughter of the late Claude and Myrtle (Tousan) Saddlemire. She was a graduate of Berne-Knox-Westerlo High School. Edna had lived in Albany for most of her life. She was a lab technician for Albany Medical Center, Shands Hospital-University of Florida and more recently, for Bender Hygienic Laboratory from where she retired. Edna thoroughly enjoyed traveling and sitting down with a good book. Another favorite pastime was attending all the family get-togethers and, as Edna would say, "All Those Good Groceries!" Edna is the beloved sister of John (Diane) Saddlemire of Knox, Nellie Agosta of Saratoga Springs and the late Lillie Mae, Rose, Jennie, Martha, Ernest, George and Ogden. Edna is also the very cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Knox Reformed Church (2175 Berne- Altamont Rd). Calling hours will be Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at New Comer-Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Interment will be in Knox Cemetery.
