Albany- Edna E. Welborn passed away on Tuesday, March, 7, 2017. Born June 30, 1934 in Burlington, NC to Gladys and Roney Welborn. She had a twin brother who passed three days after their birth.
Edna graduated from William Penn High School in 1952. She worked for Parsons Children and Family Center retiring in 1996. She loved to travel and was especially fond of the Redwood trees at Redwood National Park in Orick, CA.
She was predeceased by her parents and her beloved dog Sparky.
She is survived by one sister, Nannie Freeman, who fondly referred to Edna as "sister". She is also survived by her nephews, Clinton (Linda) and Ronnie Freeman, and a host of relatives and special friends.
A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 from 10am-11am at New Comer Funerals & Cremations, 343 New Karner Rd., Albany, NY 12205. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
