SCHENECTADY – Edward A. Loranger, 62, passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Ellis hospital after a long illness. Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was the son of Mary K. Loranger and the late Edward B. Loranger.
Edward worked for and retired from the New York State Department of Transportation as a pavement marking supervisor and a snow plow driver after 37 years of service. He enjoyed Lego building, drawing and fishing. He liked boating, camping and playing games with his granddaughter, Justiss.
Along with his father, Edward was predeceased by his sisters Eilen and Miriam Loranger, and aunt Helen Montgomery.
Edward will be missed by his loving wife of six years, Joyce M. Loranger (Montanye Hoyt); daughters Elizabeth B. Johnson, Christa Loranger and Melinda Loranger ; stepchildren Theresa (Chris) Rorick and Jason (Morgan) Hoyt ; 12 grandchildren; niece Katherine (Thomas) Feiden; and his beloved pets Yukon and Sammy.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2013 starting at 5:30 pm at the Carman Fire Department, 2435 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam. Memorial contributions may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, 1 Mustang Drive, Cohoes, NY 12047 in Jazzmine Rorick's name.
