Albany – Edward G. Bauer, Jr., 60, passed away on Friday September 12, 2014. Born in Albany, he is the son of the late Eleanor and Edward Bauer Sr.
Ed worked as a general contractor in the Capital District for most of his career before his retirement. After Albany, Ed and his wife Debbie Coliton-Bauer and two sons Chris and Ed III, moved to Carolina Beach, NC for the tourist industry and the life at Lexington Motel. During his retirement Ed, moved to Waterloo, NY and became an advocate for the homeless helping to build housing and would often take them off the streets himself and get them assistance.
Ed is survived by his three sons, Chris Bauer, Edward Bauer III and Joshua Bauer; his granddaughter, Jasmine Bauer; and his siblings, Barbara Mull, Margie (Dave) Kimmel, Lois Louster, Jane (Paul) Brunk, Dean Bauer and Dale Pagoda; and his wife Amanda Bauer; and former wife Debbie-Coliton Bauer.
Calling hours for Ed will be held on Wednesday September 17th from 11:30 – 1:30 at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. A funeral service will follow the calling hours at 1:30. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Castleton.
