Edward C. Andres

NISKAYUNA – Edward C. Andres, 78, passed away on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at his home.

Edward was born on July 27, 1934 in Albany and was the son of the late Edward J. and Evelyn H. (Allen) Andres. He was a route salesman for several companies, Tip Top Bakery and Freihofer's Bakery. He retired from NYS Dept. of DEC in 1996. He was a former member and officer of the Colonie Elks. He was known to family and friends as Big Ed the gentle giant. He enjoyed family gatherings, watching Sunday football rooting for his favorite team – the Miami Dolphins and playing cards. He also loved to shoot darts and was a member of several dart leagues.

Edward was the beloved husband of 60 years to Margaret M. (Bolton) Andres; she passed away on December 12, 2012. He is the loving father of Randy (Beverly) Andres, Rita (Bob) Hubert, Kim (Tom) Caruso and the late Keith Andres; loving brother of Joyce (Frank) Polsinello, Bruce E. Andres and the late Joanie Budka; cherished grandfather of Kevin (Corinna) McCullough, Justin Andres, Gregory Hubert, Jeffrey (Tiffany) Hubert, Robert (Mary) Hubert, Jennifer Hubert, and Chiara Caruso; and cherished great grandfather of Jaycee, Jordan, Krysta, Kelsey, Carleigh, Brittany, Francis, Robert Jr., and Savannah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. Friday at New Comer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Road, Colonie then to St. Madeleine Sophie Church, 3500 Carman Road, Guilderland where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens in Colonie. Calling hours will be Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
