Albany- Edward C. Bent, 74, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2007, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Albany he was the son of the late William and Ellen Bent. Ed served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. He worked for Corenco Corp. for a number of years and loved traveling cross country with his wife the late Elizabeth (Betty) Bent. Ed is predeceased by his brother James Lawrence Bent.
Ed is survived by his daughter Debra A. LaRose, grandson Edward LaRose, granddaughter Starlette Marie Sheffield and three great-grandchildren; David Hobson and Christopher and Alexis Sheffield, all of Colonie. He is also survived by his brother William Bent of Richmond, VA. and his sister Ellen Budlong of California.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 9:30 AM at New Comer-Cannon Family Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie, (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave.). Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Expressions of Sympathy may be made at www.newcomerfamily.com.
