Rotterdam -
Edward M. Davis, Sr. 74, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2021 after a courageous 9 year battle with lung disease. He was our Silent Warrior, our Ironman...never once complaining in spite of his disease.
He was an aerial photographer in the US Air Force, stationed in Orlando, Fla. and Thailand during the Vietnam Conflict. Ed was a construction manager for over 40 years, working for R.H. Laberge Consultants. Ed enjoyed his "boring old" Times Union newspaper, football, baseball, horse racing and camping. His heart belonged to his beloved granddaughter.
Ed is the son of the late Audrey H. Davis and the grandson of the late James and Jeanette Miller.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Kathleen Galvin-Davis; son, Edward M. Davis, Jr., daughter in law, Theresa Davis and adored grandchild, Monia Davis. Ed is also survived by his sister, Judy Kindlon, sister in law, JoAnn (Frederick, Sr.) Heimburg, brother in law, John L. (Jennifer) Galvin, Jr., and our family friend and one of Ed's caregivers, Marjorie Powell. He is also survived by his nephews, Kevin (Tammy) Holmes, Frederick (Kim) Heimburg, Jr., Timothy Holmes, Brendon (Brittany) Holmes, John (Krystal) Galvin III, Joseph Galvin, the late John Holmes; niece, Janie Anne Galvin and many great nieces and nephews.
