Albany- Edward J. Donohue, 79, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, March 3, 2023. Born in Troy, he was the son of the late Edward and Lillian Donohue. Edward is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Catherine A. Donohue.
Ed was a lifelong Yankee fan and was an avid golf player, playing with his many friends. Ed was a proud veteran serving in the United States Army and National Guard. He retired from the NYS Department of Corrections as a personnel administrator.
In addition to his wife, Ed is survived by his three children Charlene Donohue (Lee Lamka), Edward Donohue (Kristin) and Kari Donohue.
He was the loving "Grandpa" to Tony, Ava, Emily, Eddie, Colin, Evin and Gavin. Ed will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, brother in law Lou, and many friends.
He is predeceased by his sister Pat and his brother Jack.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans online at Dav.org/donate or the Alzheimer's Association online at ALZ.org/donate
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023 from 11am-1pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie, NY 12205. A memorial service will begin at the funeral home at 1pm.
