Edward E. Burnell

WATERFORD- Edward E. (Sonny) Burnell, 58, of Waterford, passed away on Wednesday December 10, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness.
He was born in Rome, NY and was the son of the late Edmund and Roseanna Foers Burnell. Sonny had worked as a warehouseman for Grand Union for 27 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was an avid NY Giants fan.
He is the beloved husband of Elsie Dudash Burnell. He is the father of Edward Burnell (Marie), James Burnell (Charla), Lisa Haple (Paul), Linda Billetts (Layne), Cheryl A. Desautels (Kenneth) and the late Thomas Burnell. He is the brother of Gail Fitzpatrick (Michael), Doreen Robinson, Mary Pobran and the late Kenneth and John Burnell. He is the beloved Poppy to eight grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10:30 at Newcomer Cannon Funeral Home, 343 New Karner Rd. Colonie (Rt. 155-south of Central Ave). Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 5 pm at the funeral home. Interment will be in Memorys Garden.
