Edward T Genhofer, 97, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. You saw over 35,400 sunrises and sunsets, touched countless lives and your stories that were too outlandish, they couldn't possibly be true, yet they were. Farewell kind soul, on to your next adventure.
Edward was the son of Edward Genhofer and Bertha G. Krueger and was born in Gelsenkirehen, Germany. He was a 1939 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and a 1949 graduate of Siena College. During WW II, he proudly served in the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of corporal as an interpreter serving generals Clark and Eisenhower.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of the Assumption Church for a number of years. He was a local business and property owner and operator. Edward enjoyed attending Siena basketball games, swimming and tennis well into his eighties, and stayed active in business into his nineties.
Edward was a kind and generous man who went out of his way to help people. His easy-going personality and humor made him a hit at any gathering. He shall truly be missed.
Edward is survived by his son, Bruce (Sharon), granddaughters Rachele and Alexa, grandson Aidan and his companion for many years, Judith Drobner.
