Edward G. Gifford

Edward G. Gifford, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Community Hospice Inn at St. Peters, with his loving family by his side. Edward was the son of the late David and Christina (Hallett) Gifford. He was the devoted husband to Barbara L. (Cardin) Gifford.

He retired from the New York State Troopers and was a P.E.R of the Guilderland Lodge and a past State Vice President with the Elks.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his daughter Sharon Carter.

Edward is survived by his wife Barbara, his son, Timothy (Justin Prater) Gifford and his daughter Darlene (Steven) Weiner. He is the adored grandfather of Sarah, Max and Rachel. He is also survived by his sister Elizabeth Kiriakedes and his canine companions Coco and Blondie.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday May 15, 2021 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with a memorial service at 2:00 pm at New Comer Cremations & Funerals, 343 New Karner Rd., Colonie. Burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the NYS Troopers PBA, Signal 30 Benefit Fund, 120 State Street, Suite 2, Albany, NY 12207 in Edward's memory.
